Before becoming a Minister at the Ministry of Justice UK, Mr Baynes asked the then Justice Minister James Cartlidge on Tuesday 5th July if he agreed with him that the many people in Clwyd South and the rest of the UK who give their time free of charge to act as magistrates are a fantastic asset to this country. They are the backbone of our justice system: without them, it could not function effectively.
