On Friday 7th October, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, visited the newly refurbished Cefn Mawr Community Social Club to meet with the Club’s new management.
Mr Baynes met with Sam Ansloos who, with his father Marcus, have recently taken over the lease and running of the Club to hear about their ideas and plans for the future. The Club recently underwent a 3 week renovation programme and re-opened on the 1st October 2022 with an ABBA Ladies tribute act.
During the visit, Mr Baynes praised the Club for sponsoring Cefn Albion and Cefn District Darts and for bringing the community together through different events such as live entertainment, karaoke and bingo and wished the new management the very best for the future.
Sam Ansloos said:
“We are thrilled to have been entrusted by Matthew Roberts and the trustees of this wonderful venue, to continue as a community club. It is the hub of Cefn Mawr and most importantly, it is a place where the local community can enjoy. The club are proud sponsors of Cefn Albion FC and the Cefn Mawr District Darts League, and we look forward to continuing this support.
“We would like to thank everyone for the support that we have been given and kind words from members”.
Following the visit, Simon Baynes MP, said:
“I know how important the Cefn Mawr Community Social Club is to the community in Cefn Mawr and the surrounding area so it was great to meet with Sam to hear about his and his father’s exciting plans for the future and to see first-hand the renovations that have recently taken place.
“It’s fantastic to see the Club organising different events for the community to enjoy and going from strength to strength. I am very pleased that the Club has a secure future and I wish Sam, Marcus and the Club team every success going forward.”
