Simon Baynes, the Prospective Welsh Conservative Assembly Member for Clwyd South, visited the stand of the Chirk Trout Farm & Smokery at the Hamper Llangollen Food Festival on Saturday 17th October. Simon said:
“It was a pleasure to meet Rachael Simpson of the Chirk Trout Farm & Smokery at the Hamper Llangollen Food Festival and to see the wide range of produce on sale on their stand. This a family business with three generations involved. It sells its products six days a week from the Farm Shop on Castle Road in Chirk and via Farmers’ Markets and other events like the Llangollen Food Festival.
It was of particular interest to me as I grew up in the trout fishing hotel at Lake Vyrnwy which my father ran. It is vitally important we all support local businesses like the Chirk Trout Farm and I much enjoyed the tasty smoked trout paté that I bought from the stand.”
