Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, invited Robin and Helen Jones, Managing Director of Jones’ Village Bakery in Clwyd South to attend a Local Business Champions Reception at 10 Downing Street on Wednesday 24th May. The event, hosted by Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, celebrated the work of local business owners across Wales and the rest of the UK.
The Village Bakery is a very successful family business run by Robin Jones and his family. They have created a Welsh brand of bread, pies and baked goods that are made in Clwyd South and Wrexham, and are sold throughout Wales and the bordering regions of England.
At the reception, along with other successful local business owners from across the UK, Robin and Helen Jones had the opportunity to meet the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and talk to him about their very successful company. The reception highlighted the importance of local businesses in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation.
Originally established in 1934 in Clwyd South, the bakery has flourished under the guidance of the Jones family, with the Village Bakery brand officially established in 1964. Over the years, the business has showcased its innovative spirit and become a major local employer, playing an integral role in supporting and investing in the surrounding community.
