On Friday 4th December, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, met with Black Lane County Primary School children and Mrs Fox, the Headteacher, to decorate the Christmas tree at Gwalia Place, Pentre Broughton.
Following a donation of two Christmas trees by Pat’s Coaches, local Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones has invited members of the community to decorate the trees at Gwalia Place and the Community Centre in the Lodge. The decorations can be placed on the tree in memory of a loved one, or as an opportunity to hang up a favourite bauble and spread some Christmas joy.
Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones said:
“Let’s see how many baubles we can hang on the trees to cheer everyone up and bring some much-needed fun back into our lives – socially distanced, of course! I think it’s a wonderful way of bringing people together and brightening up the area at the same time.”

“It was lovely to meet the children from Black Lane Primary School and their Headteacher, Mrs Fox, to decorate one of the Christmas trees in Pentre Broughton, which has very kindly been donated by Pat’s Coaches. I was impressed to hear that so many people have come out to place a decoration or hang a bauble on the trees at Gwalia Place and the Community Centre in the Lodge. And I think it’s an excellent way to bring some happiness to our communities after what has been a very difficult year.”
