On Friday 17th June, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, joined PC Lloyd Williams and PCSO Geraint Jones for a Police Ride-Along around the Corwen and Llangollen area.
The scheme gives elected representatives and members of the public the opportunity to join officers on patrol and gain a first-hand insight into daily policing.
NPT Sergeant, Rich Evans of North Wales Police, said:
“We’d like to thank Simon Baynes MP for coming out on patrol with members of our Neighbourhood Policing Team and it is fantastic that our elected officials have an interest in the day to day issues facing the force. It is also an invaluable opportunity to discuss issues that might require a joined-up problem solving approach.”
Simon Baynes MP said:
“It was a pleasure to join PC Lloyd Williams and PCSO Geraint Jones and to ‘ride-along’ with them around Corwen and Llangollen. It was a good opportunity to talk about policing and crime issues in the local area and it was great to have the chance to experience what daily life is like on the police force. North Wales Police do excellent work in Clwyd South, and it was very interesting to talk one-on-one with PC Lloyd Williams and PCSO Geraint Jones and to hear their opinions on policing and crime. I look forward to staying in touch and continuing to work closely with the police force.”
