Simon Baynes, the Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, was yesterday made an officer of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Fruit, Vegetables and Horticulture at it's AGM.
The APPG, for whom the Secretariat is the National Farmers' Union (NFU), aims "to raise awareness and understanding of the domestic horticulture industry and be the voice of fruit, vegetable and horticultural growers both inside and outside parliament", according to it's registered purpose on the official list of APPGs. The AGM was well attended, with representatives of various parties and both Houses of Parliament in attendance to discuss British agriculture.
Horticulture and agriculture are vital to Clwyd South and Mr Baynes has stated that he will continue to work for our local growers and farmers to ensure that their concerns are listened to and addressed.
