Simon Baynes, the Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, met with the Plas Power Residents Group on Friday 27th October, at the home of Aidan and Sarah Daley, who live close to the proposed Lightsource BP Solar Farm near Bersham in Clwyd South.
Mr Baynes agrees with the residents that some of the solar panels, which are 10ft high, are too close to their houses and that it would take many years for trees to mature in order to mask them, as proposed by Lightsource BP.
According to the Residents Group, removing zones D, E, F and A from the project would take away those solar panels closest to their homes and only reduce the size of the solar project by 8%. Mr Baynes strongly support this compromise proposal.
Mr Baynes outlined that he was also pleased that there was a helpful meeting on Friday last week, 3rd November, between Lightsource BP, the Plas Power Residents Group and other local elected representatives including Mark Isherwood MS and Sam Rowlands MS, where consideration of the compromise was constructively discussed. Mr Baynes has stated that he looks forward to Lightsource BP agreeing to the compromise in the coming weeks.
