Simon Baynes, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, has paid tribute to members of the Armed Forces on the 24th June (Armed Forces Day 2023).
The last Saturday in June has for nearly twenty years been recognised as Armed Forces Day, an opportunity for us to thank those who both served and continue to serve in protection of the UK. Clwyd South has a notable community of veterans, with over 2,500 households being home to at least one based off the last census.
Speaking on the day, Mr Baynes stated:
“I have great admiration for those who have conducted their careers in the Armed Forces. I come from an army family, both my father and grandfather were professional soldiers, which has given me an insight into what it is like to be a veteran and the problems this community faces. This Armed Forces Day I will be paying tribute to those who have died in service of our country and thinking about Clwyd South’s strong veterans’ community.”
