Simon Baynes, the Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, visited the Chirk Trout Farm and Smokery on Friday 17th November.
The Trout Farm and Smokery is a fantastic family-run business near Chirk that supplies fisheries and produces a range of delicious smoked fish, meat and dairy products in an environmentally conscious manner.
During his visit, Mr Baynes had the pleasure to meet owner Richard Simpson and his daughter Annabel on and to tour the farm and visit their on-site farm shop. Owned by the Simpson family since 2000 with the addition of the farm shop in 2002, they regularly sell their produce at markets across North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire. Richard also spoke to Mr Baynes about the important work the Trout Farm does in supplying fisheries across the UK with live fish, including Lake Vyrnwy where Simon grew up, delivering rainbow, blue, golden, brown and tiger trout across the country.
