Simon Baynes, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, was joined on a visit to the Rhug Estate by the Secretary of State for Wales, Rt Hon David TC Davies MP on the 2nd June.
The 12,500-acre Rhug Estate near Corwen in Clwyd South is an award-winning and diverse family estate, owned and run by Lord Newborough, that has rightly been recognised for embracing sustainable organic farming, green energy, retail, wholesale and, most recently, skincare. On their visit, Mr Baynes and the Secretary of State had the opportunity to learn more about their operations and plans to become more carbon neutral and eco-friendly.
During their visit, Mr Baynes discussed the Estate’s plans with Rhys Davies, the Estate and General Manager, Emyr Owen, Farm Manager, and Mared Williams, Sustainability and Carbon Officer, and learned about the operations of the Rhug Estate’s impressive Farm Shop. The Rhug Estate is continually developing ways to reduce their carbon footprint and enhance their beautiful surroundings in Clwyd South and both Mr Baynes and the Secretary of State for Wales were impressed by the breadth and diversity of their operations.
