Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, visited Ysgol Penycae last month to congratulate Mila Griffiths the winner of his 2022 MP Christmas Card competition, which was launched in November and included Primary School pupils from across Clwyd South.
Mr Baynes met with pupils along with the Headteacher, Tim Newbould, and class teacher Kirsten Dodd on 9th December 2022. During his visit, Mr Baynes congratulated the winner of his 2022 MP Christmas card competition, Mila Griffiths, and presented her with a copy of the card and her prize.
Headteacher, Mr Tim Newbould, said:
"We were very pleased to welcome Simon Baynes our MP to Ysgol Penycae. He attended an assembly where he presented Mila with her prize. We are all very proud of Mila's achievement."
Simon Baynes MP said:
“My visit to Ysgol Penycae was fantastic and I would like to thank Mr Newbould for the invitation to congratulate Mila in person and to present her with her prize. Mila’s design for my Christmas card was outstandingly good and it was a pleasure before Christmas to show it to the Prime Minister who was full of praise for Mila.
I was very impressed by Ysgol Penycae which is a very happy and successful school and I wish the staff and pupils every success in the year ahead.”
