Having campaigned to make sure that eligible people in Clwyd South are claiming pension credit, I raised this issue with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Rt Hon Mel Stride MP, on 6th March in Oral Questions in the House of Commons. I asked if he would give an assessment of how effective the UK government’s campaign has been in Wales and the rest of the UK.
I was very pleased to hear that, at the end of last year, the UK government had seen an increase of 177% in claims year-on-year which is great news for pensioners in Clwyd South and the rest of the UK who are getting the help and support to which they are entitled.
