Simon Baynes, the Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, recently welcomed the news that Jones Brothers have been awarded the contract to repair Newbridge Road (the B5606).
The road in question was significantly damaged by a landslip in January 2021, caused by torrential rain during Storm Christoph.
Since then, Mr Baynes has raised this issue at Prime Minister’s Questions and worked with residents and the Council to campaign for the roads repair.
Wrexham Council Officers are now engaging and working with their Consulting Engineers, Atkins Ltd, to develop and understand Jones Brothers’ planned works programme that will allow repair work to finally get underway and progress towards the re-opening of the road.
