Craig Williams MP and Simon Baynes, Welsh Conservative Assembly Candidate for Clwyd South, visited the new Youth Café at the Brymbo Enterprise Centre on Friday 29th January. It has been set up by Brymbo County Councillor Paul Rogers and Wrexham Council’s Youth Service, funded by Urban Villages Communities First. It is organised in partnership with the Brymbo Enterprise Centre and Kevin Clague who runs the café Eat with Kev at the Enterprise Centre. Over thirty young people attended and members of the Wrexham Council Youth Service were there to help out as well.
Craig Williams, Welsh Conservative MP for Cardiff North, is involved in several youth projects and had nothing but praise for the Youth Café. He said:
“It is vital that we provide places for young people, particularly teenagers, to meet in the evenings and at weekends. I know other projects like this in my own constituency and they really help all the local community. I visit Brymbo regularly as I am President of the Welsh Conservative Clubs which includes the Brymbo Club near the Enterprise Centre and I will always be available to provide advice and support to the Youth Café.”
Simon Baynes said:
“The Youth Café is proving very popular with young people in Brymbo and Cllr Paul Rogers, Wrexham Council and Kevin Clague deserve a lot of praise for taking the initiative to set this up. It is operating on both a Friday and Saturday evenings. I was also really impressed by the Youth Workers present from Wrexham Council who are dedicated to helping the young people expand their horizons through the provision of wide a range of out-of–school activities. My office is very close to the Enterprise Centre and, together with local Councillor Paul Rogers, I will continue to support the Youth Café and help it develop further in its excellent work with young people in the area.”
